Incredible! Black mom, 36, is stunned after having white child who has blue eyes and red hair

A 36-year-old black Zimbabwean mother was left stunned after she gave birth to a white child who has blue eyes and red hair.

Patience Chando and her white German partner, 49-year-old Andreas Spillea, welcomed their four-month-old baby daughter Andrea Mariella in April.

She initially thought Andrea's pale skin would tone down to be similar to that of her other daughters, 15-year-old Faith and 17-year-old Lucricia, who she had with a previous black partner.

However, this hasn't been the case. She and adorable little Andrea turn curious heads whenever they go out in their hometown of Hanover, Germany.

In an interview, she said: "I couldn't believe it. Her skin was too white when she was born, I was sure it would tone down, which happens sometimes, but it hasn't."

She added: "It wasn't until a few days after she was born I started to think, 'Hold on, her skin was white. I'm her biological mother and I'm black.'"

Doctors were equally surprised and even tested Andrea to check if she had a skin disorder. Geneticists have now suggested that Patience could have white ancestry in her lineage, although she cannot trace it even after inquiries with her family.

According to an expert, a child born of black and white parents usually has his or her skin color in between the two parents' skin colors.
